Can anyone recommend any good Email clients that will work with windows7? I want to find a good Email client before I switch from xp to windows7.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

windows vista has windows mail, which is just the vista version of outlook, only it can't hold hotmail, but it can do gmail just fine... but that's vista, so i don't know if windows 7 is the same, but, it may be... so you don't have the microsoft office 2007 stuff. it might be a starting point.

No mail client comes with Windows 7, hense the question. Windows mail works well for me, but I'm not sure if you can download it from Microsoft's website or not. If you can, I would recommend this, as it is very similar to Outlook Express. I wouldn't recommend Windows Live mail though, as I couldn't get everything to work properly with jaws. However, there may be some work arounds for this, I'll admit I didn't bother researching it before uninstalling.

I think wlm will now work with screen readers, but I haven't tried it out yet. I hear thunderbird is supposed to be user friendly.

Yes, I've heard the same from other blind users I know there is active development going on with the jaws scripts as well.. I myself have not used it though. Maybe someone using it would like to provide some feedback?

Hi.
I have been using Windows Live mail with jaws 10. It's not perfect, but it works ok. I have the reading pane disabled so it doesn't download messages. Jaws reads pretty well. The only hting I can't get is rather or not the message has attachment or not.

I have both Vista and Win 7. Windows live mail is much better then windows mail on both. Pop Peeper is kind of interesting and is a free download. www.cnet.com under email clients, or just I think www.poppepper.net, or com. I currently use Outlook 07 on the win 7 machine, and I'm running Jaws 11 and it works nicely. The only drawback is with some email you must hold the control to read it or it just says section 2 or whatever, but not the content. With Windows Live you can set it to read in text only, so that's decent, but it seems to work fine out of the box. Yes and much like Outlook express. I've got mine downloading 2 different accounts, and you can add more. Guess I like them both, but like Outlook 7 better because of the Appointment, and Calendar features.
